Overview
The Carran Family Scholarship is an annual scholarship established by Deborah Carran to provide support for military veterans to pursue the completion of a vocational training program.

Scholarship Eligibility

Eligibility Requirements
Military veterans residing in Daviess, Gibson, Knox, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh, or Warrick counties in Indiana, with preference given to Posey County residents, enrolling/enrolled in any accredited vocational training program.
Selection Criteria and Supplemental Requirements
Selection will be based on academic performance, good moral character, leadership abilities, financial need, and supplemental documents.
Supplemental Requirements:
- Statement of Aspirations and Educational Goals (500 words or less, double-spaced).
- Letter of recommendation from someone who is unrelated to the applicant and who is not a school official or a Community Foundation board member, attesting to the applicant’s character.
- Completion of the FAFSA.
- Official grade transcript.
- DD-214 (official military document).
- Proof of acceptance in an accredited program.
Transcripts
Applicants must submit their transcript directly to the Community Foundation through Parchment or by submitting a request to their educational institution.
